The Castle’s Renovation

Acquisition and Restoration: In 2015, Château de la Motte-Husson was acquired by the British couple Dick and Angel Strawbridge. At the time of purchase, the castle was in a state of serious disrepair, and they decided to undertake a large-scale restoration project, transforming it into a luxurious residence.

The castle gained global fame thanks to the TV show “Escape to the Chateau,” which first aired on Channel 4 in the UK in 2016. The show followed the couple Dick and Angel Strawbridge as they restored the castle, transforming it into a functioning home and business, including hosting events and weddings.

The show was a huge success, attracting millions of viewers and raising awareness of the castle and the surrounding area. The episodes are regularly updated, documenting the renovations, repairs, and changes the couple made.
