Yeah. Yeah. I don’t want a a family separated. Like, you know, I’m sad if there’s a a family separated. It’s tough on the kids, tough on everybody. No, it’s just the design of God. Like, you know, the devil is trying to uh destroy all the family, man. There there’s a video that’s out of your wife.
I think it was after the Ugus fight where she’s feeding you. Yeah. And it looks like your eyes are closed after the fight and some people were concerned about that, you know. But is that normal for your wife to do is just to help you after battle like like that? Like after the Ugus fight? I think she was feeding you porridge or something.
I don’t know where it was. Yeah. Feed me because uh but people were like really concerned about that. Is that normal for her to do after a big fight? Oh, my my wife is um is uh is very she’s very uh taking care of me. Yeah. You like um she’s um most outstanding wife in the world for me. That’s right.
Yes. I love it. I tell people all the time that, you know, after some of my big fights, you know, barely getting out the bed the next day, two days after, like she’s the only one there and my kids. Yeah. There’s no cameras. There’s no there’s no there’s no it’s just her. Babe, do you need something? Only the wife, the family can help you.
Yes. Yes. I I want to get back to the fighting for a little bit. I got a few more. I’m going to let you go. Um and I only bring this up because I want to I want to see if you can speak to the young fighters who have dealt with this. You know, in 2012, you had the Marquez knockout, right? And again, you’re a global superstar having to deal with something like that.
Like, like how did you recover from that personally as a fighter? because some people never come back from that. But you got up, you said, “I made the mistake. I was careless.” And you continued on with your career. How did you do that? You know, uh, when you are in the in in in boxing, you know, in in your in your career as a boxer, expect that, you know, not all the time you you you you win.
Like, I mean, there’s a a time that you lose. So, you must accept it and learn from it. What what I did is like okay I lost it but I want to learn what my mistake what I did wrong in during training preparation in the fight everything like that how I study my my style lifestyle of my opponent that’s how I became eight different weight division champion it because I’m still you know I mix boxing into science uh there’s there’s a a my I have a principle like uh the secret arts of boxing.
Mhm. That’s why I I miss it. Did you ever doubt yourself when you started when you first came back after that knockout to say, “Man, do I still have it? Can I still take a punch?” No. No. I never doubt myself cuz uh it’s uh my my condition, my my you know, my mind is still there like nothing’s changed. Like nothing changed.
It just happened that way, you know. You cannot avoid the the circumstances, you know. Man, in 2015, you said that that God spoke to you. You had an experience. I don’t know if it was a dream. You said that God spoke to you and it it like changed everything. I started hearing you talk more about Jesus.
I started Oh, yeah. Yeah. You were like, you always talked about God, but it but something changed. What happened in 22? I told him that, you know, I’m going to be lying if I don’t tell uh tell you this. Uh I did. you know billions of uh population in the world but I’m one that blessed by God cuz uh I hear the voice of God that’s a uh that’s a reality like I hear the voice of God and he showed me about hell about heaven um paradise is so beautiful so there is no reason for me to turning back from the god like I mean
doing what I did right now in my life like dedicating to him all my all my you know my my strength my my knowledge everything like that to glorify him that’s my my doing like you know I want to please god not the the people like like doing something be compassionate be merciful uh you know do not put grievances against someone do not be hatred everything like that I seen a change in you after that yeah yeah like uh Um how I wish that all people will experience that what I had experienced like you know if you
experience like that what I had experienced like believe me like oh there’s no there is no uh way that you cannot obey you cannot uh you know what gives you the boldness and the I say the boldness to speak about Jesus some people don’t want to hear about it some people I shut up nobody wants to hear that you you’re very you have the stature you have you have the popularity you have and you use that platform to share his name to preach.
What gives you that that boldness to do that? Because that’s that’s uh his promise that he will come back and he will appear a second time to take those who are waiting for him like uh that’s his promise. He will appear a second time not to bear sin but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
So that’s my know and one day because we’re we we have to understand that we are just passing by you know we’re not forever in this world. So make sure that after the life our lives here in this world that’s the beginning of eternity either eternal suffering or eternal happiness because God showed me that the hell what is hell what is heaven so how I wish that people will see what I see when I saw uh that God showed it to me there is no reason that you you turn away from God.
Like you there’s no reason you have until now I’m I every time I’m doing something like that I’m always thinking about like the hell that he showed it to me like in agony forever like ah the all the people who died like they go to hell like they’re in agony. Wow. That’s forever. That’s forever. I saw that what I’m going to do like I cannot there’s no reason that the Lord needs to prove it to me.
Yeah. Yeah. Was that like a dream or like a vision? Like a like like I was crying and then uh uh like a dream but when I wake up like I’m just crying like you know my my my fellow is with my Yeah. Yeah, man. Also, in 2015, we finally got the fight that everybody wanted with Floyd Mayweather.
What happened in that training camp with your shoulder going into that fight, man? Um, supposedly like I’m just wondering 2 weeks before the fight like if I’m going to uh postpone it or not cuz I’m so bothered with my my shoulder. Mhm. But the thing is I’m worried about the fans cuz uh this the kit is sold out and the fans is already there in Las Vegas waiting for the fight.
Like the whole world is very excited for that fight and I’m thinking like and then you going you’re going to announce like the fight the fight is postponed like that and they were you know Mhm. dismay like you know I mean tell me about that fight a little bit just being in there with Floyd Floyd being in there with you like what was the experience like being there in the ring fighting him finally? It’s good.
But despite all those things, uh, but after the fight, right after the fight, I went to go I went to the hospital and got operated with my my my Yeah, you got an operation. Yeah. I remember you posted a picture, a video of really hurt. Yeah. After the operation after after I’ve had it I’ve had a shoulder surgery.
The rehab is terrible, too. The rehabilitation like how many months? Like it’s really hard. Is Floyd was he better or worse than you thought he was? Who? Floyd Mayweather when you fought him. Were you Were you like, “Ah, this is what I thought.” Or was it better or worse? No, that’s his style. Like I I knew it.
But the thing is I review I don’t I’m expecting that I won the fight cuz uh he didn’t throw a lot of punches. I throw a lot of punches and I review the comp box like slow motion from first round to 12 rounds. I I I slow motion it like uh how many how many punches get connected and how many how many punches of him he connected.
I won like two or two rounds from him but I that’s that’s uh you know that’s boxing. I’m not complaining or making you know just it happened that way. It happened to me many times like the Jeff Horns Bradley won like the Bradley fight like Did you try to get a rematch? Who? You did you want a rematch with Floyd? With Floyd? Mhm.
I I I’m still active. It’s up to him if he going to fight. So you would even fight him today, huh? You would even fight him today. You win your fight if he say, “Hey, Manny, I want to fight.” You going to fight? No. Even here. Oh my goodness. Even here. Yeah. That fire never dies, man.
That never my my my my right hand is complete. So yeah, you’ll be willing to do it. You will see my my condition out in the fight. Yeah. You see Terence Crawford now just moved up to 154. Then he’s moving up again. Two-way classes against Canelo Alvarez. What do you think about that fight? It’s good fight but Canalo has advantage his favor because um that’s his natural weight and then uh Crowford moving up if Crowford don’t know how to handle or manage his body and his condition his footwork everything like that to moving up very
difficult difficult he needs to handle and maintain the speed and improve his power. That’s so that’s what I did. Like maintain your speed and improve your power to get respect from the bigger man. Yes, of course. Like what when I fought the Margarito. Margarito. Yeah, that was crazy. 154. That was crazy. Your power carried up.
It went up with you. Yeah. See, like it’s hard. I mean, I have to a lot of uh works in at the gym like I train like three to four hours a day. Yeah. What can we expect from you, Manny, and your fight in July? What what can the fans expect from Manny Pacquiao? You know, all I can say is like I always bring surprises to the fans.
Surprise. I always bring surprises. You know, that’s Manny Pacquiao. Man, your son Emmanuel is on the undercard. You nervous? You feeling excited? How you feel about that? Actually, yeah. I’m I feel nervous to his fight than my fight. Mhm. Mhm. But you excited for him too? I’m excited because uh you know I am blessed because uh I I cannot imagine that in my career I can That’s crazy. Yeah.
I can see my my son fighting. Unbelievable, right? Unbelievable. I heard he’s been here training even when you were back in the Philippines. Yeah, he stayed in LA. Yeah, he’s been training, studying. Yeah, that’s good. Last question, Manny. What brings you happiness and joy at this stage in your life? Bring me happiness and joy.
the Lord my my relation to God. I want to get closer and closer to God. Like I’m reading the Bible, uh pray continually and memorizing scriptures, sharing to others how God loves us. And all of us, the Lord wants us to be united and caring, sharing to other. Those who are hunger, we have we we should feed them. Those who are thirsty, we should give them something to drink.
And those who are don’t have shelter, we give them uh shelter. That’s how that’s the love of God. If we really love God, if we really believe God, then confirm it by our action. That’s how we claim that we we believe God. Because there are so many people in the world that claiming that they believe God, but by their action, they’re not comp confirming.
So, they don’t really believe God. They just know God. So believing in in uh in and uh believing and uh claiming is different because when you believe you obey. When you uh claiming believe then they don’t you don’t obey that. You just you just just talking. You just know God. Yeah.
